Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse is an upcoming 2015 horror comedy by Paramount Pictures. Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse is being directed by Christopher B. Landon, and the producers are Andy Fickman and Todd Garner. The screenplay has been written by Carrie Evans, Emi Mochizuki and Christopher B. Landon. The story was written by the two screenplay writers Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki, as well as Lona Williams. The film is set to star Tye Sheridan, David Koechner, Logan Miller, Halston Sage, Joey Morgan, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Cloris Leachman. The film will be released on October 30th, 2015. Originally Paramount Pictures set Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse for a March 13, 2015 release date. On October 14, 2014, it was announced with the new date of October 30th, 2015.

Plot

Three boys who happen to be scouts have to save their town from a zombie outbreak on what is scheduled to be their last camp together. They discover the meaning of friendship whilst fighting an evil that threatens to destroy everything that they love and care about.

“Three scouts and lifelong friends join forces with one badass cocktail waitress to become the world’s most unlikely team of heroes. When their peaceful town is ravaged by a zombie invasion, they’ll fight for the badge of a lifetime and put their scouting skills to the test to save mankind from the undead.”

 

Cast

Tye Sheridan is set to play the role of Ben. Sheridan made his feature film debut in Terrence Malick’s experimental drama film The Tree of Life (2011) and had his first leading role in the coming-of-age film Mud (2012). He co-starred in the drama Joe (2013). In 2015, he starred in the drama The Stanford Prison Experiment. Sheridan will play the role of the young Cyclops in the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse.

Logan Miller is set to play the role of Carter. He is best known for his role as Tripp Campbell in the Disney XD sitcom I’m in the Band. He also played teenage Connor Mead, the younger version of Matthew McConaughey’s character in the 2009 film Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.

Joey Morgan is set to play the role of Augie. Joey Morgan is an actor, known for Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (2015), Camp Manna (2016) and DeTour (2015).

Sarah Dumont is set to play the role of Denise. Sarah Dumont is an actress, known for Don Jon (2013), Playing It Cool (2014) and Oh, You Pretty Things! (2014).

David Koechner is set to play the role of Scout Leader Rogers. After his breakout role as Champ Kind in the 2004 comedy Anchorman, Koechner began appearing frequently with larger supporting roles in many high-profile comedic films including Talladega Nights, Thank You for Smoking, Waiting…, Semi-Pro, The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard, and Extract. He currently co-stars in the Comedy Central series Another Period.

Halston Sage is set to play the role of Kendall. She is known for her roles as Grace on the Nickelodeon TV series How to Rock, Amber on the NBC primetime series Crisis and Lacey in Paper Towns.

Patrick Schwarzenegger is set to play the role of Jeff. He is an American model and actor. He is the son of Austrian-American bodybuilder, actor and former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and heiress Maria Shriver. He has appeared in The Benchwarmers, Stuck in Love, Grown Ups 2, Dear Eleanor, Scream Queens, and in 2016 will appear in Midnight Sun and North. He has also modelled for numerous different fashion brands and companies.

Cloris Leachman is set to play the role of Ms. Fielder. Leachman is an American actress of stage, film, and television. She co-starred in the 1971 film The Last Picture Show for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Leachman competed in the 20th Miss America pageant and was in the Top 16 in 1946. Leachman’s longest running role was as Phyllis Lindstrom on the 1970s TV series Mary Tyler Moore, and later its spinoff series, Phyllis. She also appeared in three Mel Brooks’ films, including Young Frankenstein. She had a regular role in the last two seasons of The Facts of Life, acting in the role of Beverly Ann Stickle. She also played the role of Daisy May “Granny” Moses in the 1993 film The Beverly Hillbillies. In the 2000s, she had a recurring role as Lois’ mother Ida Gorski on Malcolm in the Middle.  Leachman was a contestant on Season 7 (2008) of Dancing with the Stars. From 2010 to 2014 she starred as Maw Maw in the television comedy Raising Hope.

The music has been written by Matthew Margeson. Cinematography was handled by Brandon Trost, and Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse has been edited by Jim Page.

The production company in charge of the creation of Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse was Broken Road Productions, and the distribution both internationally and domestically is being handled by Paramount Pictures. The running time of Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse is 93 minutes.

Filiming began on May 8th 2015.
