Shawver and Claudia Castello. It was distributed by Warner Bros. and production companies include New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The running time for the film is 95 minutes. The country is the United States and the language spoken is English. The movie’s budget is $35 million.
The seventh film in the Rocky series was brought into the light on July 24th, 2013. This was when it was announced that MGM would be signing on the director, Ryan Coogler, who would be writing alongside Covington. The original producers of the project consisted of Irwin Winkler, Robert Chartoff, Keving King Templeton, and Stallone. It was said that Stallone would reprise his famous role as Rocky and this was later confirmed on April 24th of 2014 when Coogler was talking to THR. He said that he had sent the latest draft of Creed to the studio and confirmed Stallone in addition to Jordan. In November of last year Andre Ward and Tony Bellew joined the project, both real boxers. Shooting was set to begin in January of this year in Philadelphia and Las Vegas. The female lead, played by Tessa Thompson, was added on December 16th and on January 8th of this year it was said that actress Phylicia Rachad would be joining the cast. Graham McTavish tweeted on January 21st regarding his involvement in the project.
Initial filming began in England on January 19th, 2013. England is where the first scene was actually set, so it was logical for it to be the filming location. The initial scene captures a football match at Goodison Park in Liverpool between West Bromwich Albion F.C. And Everton F.C. Philadelphia was another primary location for filming. An empty store was transformed into a boxing gym at one place in Philadelphia, and this is the place a few scenes were shot where the boxers trained. Filming was also seen at The Victor Cafe which was converted into Adrian’s Restaurant. Filming was seen there on the dates February 13th and February 16th. On February 18th Jordan and Stallone were seen at the location. From late February to early March filming took place at Sun Center Studios in Aston Township. The film is scheduled to be released on November 25th, 2015. Other movies have been set to be released on the very same date, such as Victor Frankenstein, The Night Before, and The Good Dinosaur.
The cast for Creed consists of Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa, Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson, Tessa Thompson as Bianca, Stephanie Damiano as Ring Girl, Graham McTavish as Tommy Holiday, Phylicia Rashad as Mary Anne Creed, Maria Breyman as Ricky’s friend, Ritchie Coster as Pete Sporino, Mark Rhino Smith as Conlan’s buddy, Chandra Anderson as Ring Girl, Cory Kastle as Box Seat Audience Member, Tony Bellew as “pretty” Ricky Conlan, and Claire Bronson as Social Worker.
One of the most popular boxing sagas to ever make history is Rocky, starring Sylvester Stallone. Rocky, the first film, was released in 1076, Rocky II was released in 1979, Rocky III in 1982, Rocky IV in 1985, Rocky V in 1990, Rocky Balboa in 2006, some years later, and now finally Creed will be released in 2015—certainly breaking the title-trend of “Rocky.” In total all of the Rocky films compiled together have had a budget of $119.08 million and worldwide they grossed $1,271,222,322. The first movie, Rocky, is considered an exceptional classic and was given an approval rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. The later movies, particularly IV and V did not get very favorable reviews, with IV getting 38% on Rotten Tomatoes and V getting 26%. Rocky Balboa, however, got a rating of 76% and had the most amount of reviews of any of the Rocky movies with 175 reviews. All of the rest had less than half that many. Sylvester Stallone was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum on December 7th, 2010. This was because Stallone had payed tribute to boxers by way of the character Rocky.
It has taken quite a bit of time for any real details to be released about Creed, at least as far as plot and story go. Finally the image of the film is becoming slightly more clear. It has been called a semi spinoff of the Rocky franchise, but now more details are finally available. Adonis Johnson is the son of the famous Apollo Creed (for whom the movie is named after, presumably) a world heavyweight champion, but he never had the opportunity to know or meet his father as he passed away before Adonis had even been born. Adonis strives to follow in his father’s footsteps as a boxer. He travels to Philadelphia where he meets his upstart Rocky Balboa. Rocky agrees to train Adonis as he sees clear potential in the young man, recognizing his father’s strength. Let it be known, also, for those who are not familiar, that Rocky had ties with Apollo Creed as a friend and rival. Meanwhile Rocky is training the young Adonis he is battling his own demons. Adonis, of course, gets an opportunity to win the title.
The synopsis suggests that Rocky may be battling some serious illness, although this is not certain or obvious from the information available here. Nearly a decade ago the last movie came out, Rocky Balboa. It did favorably well which suggests that the new Rocky movie, Creed, has potential to excel. It is true that Stallone won’t be quite as crucial to writing and directing as he was previously, but he will nevertheless represent Rocky, otherwise there would surely be a lot of disappointment. There are other reasons Creed may be promising with some new blood. Michael B. Jordan is known for his part in Fantastic Four and Tess Thompson is known for her work in Selma.
