Introducing the 2016 Emmy Nominations

The nominees for the 68th Emmy Awards have been announced. Black-ish star, Anthony Anderson, and Gilmore Girls’ Lauren Graham appeared live on the Emmy website at 11:30 AM on July 14, 2016 to make the official announcements of the nominees.

The 2016 Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will honor the best in American television from shows that aired between June 1, 2015 and May 31, 2016. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will be responsible for choosing the final winners of the Emmy Awards under various categories. The results of this year’s Emmy Awards will be announced at a ceremony that will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on September 18, 2016.

Jimmy Kimmel of Jimmy Kimmel Live! will host this year’s Emmy event, which will mark his second stint with the Emmy Awards, the first being in 2012.

Just like last year, this year’s Emmy nominations were dominated by Game of Thrones. Last year, Game of Thrones broke records by bagging 24 Emmy nominations, out of which it finally won 12 awards. This year too, it has won 23 nominations, and it will come as no surprise if it managed to recreate the same magic as before.
